About me

Hi, I’m Rob Ling – a UK-based illustrator and motion designer.

I work mainly in Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro, creating playful, textured artwork using digital watercolour and collage. My style is loose, expressive, and a little bit nostalgic—like a child’s drawing, if that child had a beard and a mortgage…

I’ve created work for The Guardian, Coast and Canines, Shore, SkyScanner, Rev Rooms, Futurlab, ATG Theatres and Chichester Harbour Conservancy—spanning editorial, animation, theatre, and beyond. Recent work also includes an animated short based on a poem by Tim Key, featuring his voice-over.

I bring warmth, character, and a handmade feel to every project — if something makes me smile, I generally go with it. I’d especially love to illustrate a beer or a board game (why not both?).
